Pallet Shuttle System
Pallet shuttle racking system
- Product Specifications:
Pallet Shuttle racking system, is also known as pallet runner racking system, radio shuttle racking system, which is a deep lane compact storage system. A shuttle driven by an electric motor runs on rails inside the storage channels, replacing forklifts, considerably reducing operating times and enabling items to be grouped by channels rather than complete lanes.
The Pallet Shuttle follows orders sent by an operator and deposit the load in the first free placement location in the channel and compacting the pallets as much as possible. By removing the need to drive forklifts into the lanes, storage capacity is increased in terms of depth, the risk of accidents and damage to the racks is negligible, operator movements are optimized and warehouse operation is modernized and made more flexible.
2. Clear benefits and advantages:
- A shuttle system offers highest possible density storage and is considered the best solution amongst not fully automated systems
- The system is semi-automated and works in combination with a fork lift truck.
- While the shuttle transports the load within the racking, the fork lift driver is free to work elsewhere, thus he is optimizing his working time.
- Compact storage of another article (SKU) on every lane.
- Ability to handle the pallets FIFO and LIFO. And the possibility to change at every time. Both can be available in the same block. What we call 'Maximum Flexibility'
3. Applications of pallet shuttle system
In general, the Pallet Shuttle noticeably increases warehouse productivity when working with incoming and outgoing goods with a large number of pallets per discrete item. As such, it is the perfect option for:
- Companies with few items and a large number of pallets..
- Companies with a high level of loading and unloading activity.
- Cold storage: It is ideal for warehouses where low temperatures are required, since it takes full advantage of the storage volume and reduces maneuvering times. The system is even more efficient when automated systems are installed, using stacker cranes or transfer cars.
- Buffers for temporary storage or picked orders.
- Seasonal product warehouses, where inflow and outflow depend on the season, and goods are accumulated over a period, until a given moment when they are released in bulk, as is the case for ice creams or toys.
- Warehouses that already use a compact system and need to access a greater number of items, store more pallets in depth or increase the number of incoming and outgoing movements, thereby increasing their productivity.
4. Material and Methodology:
4.1 Raw material
The raw material of uprights and beams are structure carbon steel Q235B, equivalent to SS400. All components are manufactured to a code of practice as recommended by Storage Equipment Manufacturers Association(SEMA) and ISO 9001..
4.2 Paint finish
Parts contaminated with surface oil and dirt is first treated in the 5-stage-spray pretreatment plant. After the pretreatment process, the parts are dried in the dry-off oven at approximately 150 C to ensure removal of water and that the quality of phosphating is achieved.
Methodology:loading→degreasing→rinsing→phosphating→rinsing→ rinsing →
dry off →electric-static powder coating→baking→unloading;
